Liz Blakemore

Liz Blakemore’s dance journey began at the Omaha Academy of Ballet under Dr. Valerie Roche in Omaha, NE, where she rigorously studied Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, and Improvisation. Her dedication to dance led her to East Carolina University, where she earned a B.F.A. in Dance Performance. At ECU, she continued her training with esteemed instructors such as Tommi Galaska, Patti Weeks, John Dixon, Teal Darkenwald, and Clarine Powell.

Liz's tapping prowess took her to the Chicago Rhythm Tap Festival, where she danced with Lane Alexander, while her extensive dance background also allowed her to perform with notable choreographers including Mark Heim, Bergen Wheeler, Sara Mau, Jonathan Fagan, and Patrick Roddy.

After transitioning from a performing career, Liz began teaching and choreographing at various institutions, including Artistry in Motion in Smithfield, NC, International Ballet Academy in Cary, NC, and CC & Co Dance Complex in Raleigh, NC. Her expertise as a judge is recognized across North Carolina, where she has adjudicated for Prestige Inc, Megan’s Academy of Dance, Artistry in Motion, 7 Dance Centre, and CC & Co Dance Company, and served as a main judge for Marvonna Dance Competition and Star Quest Dance Competition.

Currently, Liz is an award-winning choreographer and instructor at 7 Dance Centre, where she focuses on refining technique and delving into the art of choreography. As the program manager for North Carolina Dance Ambassadors, she passionately connects students throughout the state, celebrating and advancing the joy and art of dance.
